The Southerland-Burnette House

Located in the town of Mount Olive, North Carolina and built in 1874, The Southerland-Burnette House is a historic tea house that offers a unique experience for any special occasion.

 

Our story is rooted in love and family.  In 1996 as my husband, Kenny, and I were making wedding plans, we knew we would be married in our church but wanted a reception venue that was unique and special.  We were fortunate that the previous owners of the house, Charles and Linda Turner, were gracious enough to allow us to use their beautiful home as the setting for a perfect ending to our wedding day. It has held a special place in our hearts ever since.  When our family was able to acquire the house in September of 2021, we wanted to create a space where others could celebrate special occasions in the same historic home we have come to love.  As a family business, we are dedicated to helping family and friends gather in a beautiful venue to make memories they can treasure for a lifetime. We are truly thankful for the love and support everyone has shown us as we continue to offer our services in a beautiful venue while preserving a piece of our town’s history.
